Sigiriya Rock

Sigiriya is a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site which considered to be the 8th wonder of the world. Sigiriya Rock Fortress lies in the northern Matale District near Dambulla in the Central Province of Sri Lanka

Cave Temple

Dambulla Cave Temple is also known as the Mahavamsa Jambukola Viharaya (Jambukola Temple), was constructed under a massive gneiss boulder with a height of 183 m (600 ft) and a length of 610 m (2,000 ft) in antiquity and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site

History

It was earlier known as Dhamballai and was ruled by Kings like Raja Raja Chola and Rajendra Chola during their tenure in the late 10th and early 11th centuries.
